Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at Rosemary Hill. This person will be responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department’s operations, managing staff, maintaining cleanliness standards, ensuring efficient linen and laundry processes, and upholding hygiene and safety protocols across all accommodation units.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong organisational and leadership skills, physical stamina, and a passion for maintaining high standards in hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the housekeeping and laundry teams.
- Assign daily tasks and manage staff rosters and schedules.
- Maintain and manage inventory of linen, amenities, and cleaning supplies.
- Conduct regular room and laundry inspections to ensure standards are upheld.
- Report maintenance needs and follow up on repairs.
- Perform cleaning duties when needed, especially during staff shortages.
- Ensure deep cleaning and linen rotation schedules are followed.
- Uphold health and safety regulations and ensure staff compliance.
- Maintain laundry equipment and monitor chemical usage.
- Provide training, feedback, and support to team members.
- Monitor and minimise linen losses and breakages.
- Attend meetings and assist in implementing policies and procedures.
- Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, punctuality, and attention to detail.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor in the hospitality industry.
- South African citizen with a valid driver’s licence.
- Must be a non-smoker.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Organised, dependable, and able to multitask under pressure.
- High physical stamina – must be able to stand for extended periods and carry heavy items when needed.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
- Understanding of laundry processes, machines, and chemicals.
- Tech-savvy with access to WhatsApp on a mobile phone.
- Willing to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
